Squadron Leader Douglas R.S. Bader, what can I say, the legless Ace, you either loved him or hated him. Whatever he did during the Battle of Britain, his young pilots looked up to him and would have followed him anyware into battle. My painting of the great man, is of Douglas climbing into his Spitfire for the 5th anniversary fly past of the Battle of Britain over London, I just felt he was a great inspiration.
