This is a scene I've reproduced from a famous photograph of 19 Squardron being debriefed after a sortie in September 1940. The anguish and exhaustion on the pilot faces said it all. The pilot in the centre is Squadron Leader Brian (Sandy) Lane and after landing his Spitfire with engine trouble and loosing two of his fellow pilot's, the stress of the days events can clearly been seen.
From left to right: F/L Walter (Farmer) Lawson, S/L Brian (Sandy) Lane and F/S George (Grumpy) Unwin.
The museum is now closed.
